The Role
Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, you will join a team of exceptional facilitators in all areas of human resources and professional development -- legal compliance, safety skills, computer skills, HR management and a wide range of other topics. This team delivers a robust schedule of training, and you'll facilitate training at least three days a week, and sometimes five. For the most part you'll facilitate one session a day to groups ranging from 6 to 20 participants. Training sessions are held in our offices in Seattle and Kent, as well as at Members' sites. The topics are varied but most will focus on foundational professional development skills -- a small sampling of titles: "Supervisory Skills," "Communicating for Success," "Leadworker Effectiveness," "Hiring Winners," "Time Management" and "Conflict to Collaboration." Nonetheless, if you are the person we're looking for, much of the material will be familiar and you should be up to speed quickly.
When you're not in a training session you will review facilitator guides and prepare for upcoming sessions -- there always will be something for you to do. At the same time, we'll encourage you to conserve your energy for the classroom, as you will spend a good deal of time there, and we'll count on you to ensure the sessions are engaging and offer varied activities to optimize participation and outcomes.
Note: this description is intended to give you a general overview of the position and is not an exhaustive listing of duties and responsibilities.
